You can put this solution on YOUR website!Find the complement and supplement of an angle with the given measure.
32°20'
I got C: 57° 80'
-------------------
I don't know what C is, but
90 - 32°20' = 57° 40' (there are 60' per degree)
-----
The supplement is the complement + 90

test/738000: Factor x^2+3x-4=50 1 solutions
Answer 450633 by Alan3354(31528) on 2013-04-15 18:29:51 (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website!Factor x^2+3x-4=50
---------------
Polynomials are factored.
Equations are solved.
This is an equation.
=======================
Factor x^2+3x-4=50 **** That can't be factored.
----
Subtract 50 from both sides.
x^2 + 3x - 54 = 0
Now the left side can be factored.
(x+9)*(x-6) = 0
--> x = -9, x = 6

Polynomials-and-rational-expressions/737925: Please check my answer, I am not sure which is correct
Problem: (2x^4-3x^2+8x-1)-(x^4+3x^3+x+4)
answer: x^4-3x^3-3x^2+7x-5 OR x^4-3x^2+7x-5-3x^3
(x^4)+(-3x^2)+(-3x^3)+(7x)+(-5)=x^4-3x^3-3x^2+7x-5
In what order do results have to be? Which order is correct because I have been it the other way as well.

answer: x^4-3x^3-3x^2+7x-5 OR x^4-3x^2+7x-5-3x^3
The answers are the same, just different order.
Descending order is customary, and expected.
x^4-3x^3-3x^2+7x-5
-----------------------------
(x^4)+(-3x^2)+(-3x^3)+(7x)+(-5)=x^4-3x^3-3x^2+7x-5
In what order do results have to be? Which order is correct because I have been it the other way as well.
-------------
Any order is correct, and they're all the same answer. Descending order makes it easier to do and to check.

---------------
For the faster car:
d = r*t
t = d/r
t = 1000/150 = 20/3 hours
t =~ 6.67 hours
----
For the slower car:
t = 800/70 = 80/7 hours
t =~ 11.43 hours

You can put this solution on YOUR website!Write the equation of the circle x^2+10x+y^2-6y+29=0 in standard form. Find the radius and center of the circle.
---------------

Complete the squares for x and y separately.

In the form  , a = 1 & b = 10
Add c, c = (b/2a)^2
c = (10/2)^2 = 25
---------
y^2-6y
c = (-6/2)^2 = 9
----
 is "Standard Form"
--------
5 = r^2 -->
The center is (-5,3)

(x - 1/2)*(x - 3/5) = 0
Multiply by 2*5 to eliminate fractions
(2x-1)*(5x-3) = 0

b^3-3b is not a question.
You have to say what you want to do.

Graphs/737395: Sketch the graph of each line.
y= -3x+4
Please help I am so lost 1 solutions

You can put this solution on YOUR website!Sketch the graph of each line.
y= -3x+4
----------------
It's a straight line, so you need 2 points.
Pick 2 values for x and find y.
---
x = 0, y = 4 --> point (0,4)
x = 2, y = -2 --> point (2,-2)
---
Plot the 2 points, draw a line thru them.

Travel_Word_Problems/737350: your tires:
wheels are 1.25 inches in diameter.
fastest speed is 3ft/sec.
maximum distance to travel is 16 x (18 cm)
1. convert the dimensions for the wheel and maximum distance to feet.
wheel diameter in feet:______
maximum distance in feet:______
a 5% error in distance is allowed. what is the total distance if the 5% error is applied?
shorter distance with error:______
longer distance with error:_______
2. how many times does the wheel turn to travel the maximum distance?_____
if you take into account the 5% error, how does this affect the number of truns of the wheel?_____
3. how long does it take to travel the maximum distance at full speed?_____
is this impacted by the distance error? how?______
4. what is the acceleration needed to travel the maximum distance when starting from a standstill?______
how is acceleration impacted by the distance error?_____
5. examine the pathways below calculate the time to travel each path, taking into account slowing and turning time. also calculate the number of turns of the wheel on each path segment. the star is the finish. corridors are 16.2 cm wide. be specific about the time you allow fro slowing and turning.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!your tires:
wheels are 1.25 inches in diameter.
fastest speed is 3ft/sec.
maximum distance to travel is 16 x (18 cm)
1. convert the dimensions for the wheel and maximum distance to feet.
wheel diameter in feet: = 1.25/12 ft
maximum distance in feet: 16*18 = 288 cm
max d = 288/(2.54*12) = 24/2.54 ft
-----------------
a 5% error in distance is allowed. what is the total distance if the 5% error is applied?
= max d * 0.95
shorter distance with error: = max d * 0.95
longer distance with error: max d * 1.05
--------------------
2. how many times does the wheel turn to travel the maximum distance?
1.25 in = 3.175 cm
Circumference = 3.175*pi cm
# of turns = max d/circumference
-------------------
if you take into account the 5% error, how does this affect the number of truns of the wheel? Changes by same percent
------------------
3. how long does it take to travel the maximum distance at full speed?
3 ft/sec = 91.44 cm/sec
t = d/r
---------------
is this impacted by the distance error? how? By the same %age.
-------------------
4. what is the acceleration needed to travel the maximum distance when starting from a standstill? Any acceleration > 0 will work, the times depend on the value.
-----------
how is acceleration impacted by the distance error? by the same %age.
-----------------
5. examine the pathways below calculate the time to travel each path, taking into account slowing and turning time. also calculate the number of turns of the wheel on each path segment. the star is the finish. corridors are 16.2 cm wide. be specific about the time you allow fro slowing and turning.
---
Not enough info, no info given on slowing and turning time.

Rate-of-work-word-problems/737347: If 5 men can paint 100 meters long in 10 days of a 8 hours each. in how many days of 6 hours each will 8 men paint a wall 30 meters long?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!If 5 men can paint 100 meters long in 10 days of a 8 hours each. in how many days of 6 hours each will 8 men paint a wall 30 meters long?
---------------------
10 8 hr days = 80 hours
5*80 = 400 man-hours for 100 meters
400 m-h/100 meters = 4 m-h/meter
-----
30*4 = 120 m-h to do 30 meters
120 m-h/8 men = 15 hours
15 hr/6 hr/day = 2.5 days
