Comment from student: Thank you so very much Stanbon. I have not taken math in over 20 years and believe me, it is a challenge. Now that I have a clear understanding of the problem, this is one less that I have to worry about. Again thank you.

Comment from student: Thank you very much for explaining it. It helped out a lot. Thanks again.

Comment from student: I understand that. If you check, the determinant is not zero in this case. On my TI-84 calculator, I get the correct answer for Y=0, but manually this does not compute and I get Y=1 instead of Y=0. I'm at a loss to explain this. Any ideas? Try it and tell me if I'm too close to the street lights to see the stars! Thanks

Comment from student: thhanks, i dont know how to correctly put the problem in though. they are both cube-root expresssions, and we are supposed to solve them/simplify them, but i cant put the equation in right, so that you will understand it. thanks for ttrying though

Comment from student: Thank you very much for your help. Thank you for explaining this to me. It makes more sense to me now. I really need help with one more problem, if you have time. The problem is x{y} = x + 9. Determine whether the equation defines a function with independent variable x. If it does, find the domain.
