In the case where we do not know the standard deviation of the population, we use
:
std. dev of population = square root(P*Q), where P = 0.41 and Q = 0.59, then
:
std. dev of population = square root(0.2419) = 0.4918, then
:
std. dev. of sample = std. dev. of population / square root of sample size
