i assume you mean {{{64 = 2^(3x)}}} rather than {{{64 = (2^3)x}}}


If so, we have the variable (x) as a "power". To remove this, take logs. Since the base is 2, use this as your log base.


So, {{{log64 = log(2^(3x))}}} where the logs are base2.


--> 6 = 3x
--> 2 = x
