Question 12909
8-3x<-3(1+x)+1

Use distributive property to remove the parentheses:
8-3x < -3- 3x + 1

Combine like terms on each side:
8-3x < -2 - 3x

Add +3x to each side in an attempt to get all variable terms on the left side:
8-3x+3x < -1 - 3x + 3x
8 < -1

Since there are NO VARIABLES left in the equation, you can't solve for x as you do in most equations. In this case, all you have left is 8<-1, which is NOT TRUE. In fact, it is NEVER true. This means that no matter what x is, 8 will NEVER be less than -1. This means that there IS NO SOLUTION!

The final answer is b. No Real Numbers.
