well first take a number that you think might work.
my first number was 2 so I checked my answer like this
10(2)-13=3(2)+8
20-13=6+8
7=14
so thats wrong then I took three
10(3)-13=3(3)+8
30-13=9+8
17=17 so that is correct so the answer would be
y=3
