P(x)=-2x^3+3x^2+x-7 ------


Is this a polynomial and if it is what degree is it.

A polynomial is an expression in which a finite number of constants and variables are combined using only addition, subtraction, multiplication, and non-negative whole number exponents (raising to a power). 



The highest power of the variable is called degree of a polinomial.



Here first expression, R(x)=5x^2-2x+6 is a polinomial.


and its  degree is 2



And in the second expression   P(x)= -2x^3 + 3x^2 + x-7, it ia also a polinomial
and its degree is 3.
