a man travels in a motorized boat at the rate of 15 kph from his barrio to the city and comes back at the rate of 12 kph. 
if his total time of travel is 3 hrs. find the distance{{{highlight(x)}}} from the barrio to the city

  {{{x/15mph + x/12mph = 3hr}}}   |Multiplying thru by 60 so as all denominators = 1
   4x + 5x = 180
    9x = 180
     x = 20mi, the distance from the barrio to the city
