Question 613640
The volume of water the trough can hold is given by the volume of the 'box' formed by the sides of the trough.

That is {{{Volume = Length * Width * Height}}}

Also note that any volume has 'units' associated with it.

{{{Volume = 3.4feet * 2.3feet * 1.8feet}}}
{{{Volume = 3.4 * 2.3 * 1.8 *feet * feet * feet}}}
{{{Volume = 3.4 * 2.3 * 1.8 (feet)^3}}}
{{{Volume = 14.076 (feet)^3}}}
The term {{{(feet)^3)}}} is pronounced as 'feet cubed' ... also known as cubic feet
