<font face="Times New Roman" size="+2">

Open an Excel (if you are on Windows) or Numbers (if you are on a Mac) spreadsheet.

Type your numbers into a square array of cells.

Put your cursor into an empty cell and type: *[tex \LARGE =MDETERM(]

Then highlight your array of numbers. Notice that the cell references in your MDETERM formula will fill in. Put a close parenthesis at the end of your formula and hit Enter (or Return on the Mac).

The value of the determinant will be displayed in the cell with the formula.

If you don't have Excel or Numbers on your computer, go find a friend that does.
