You are going about the problem the wrong way. In case you weren't sure, the formula for slope is y=mx+b. X is your slope. And B is your y-intercept. In the equation y=-8x+5, your slope would be wherever the x is; therefore, -8 would be your slope. You wouldn't write it as Slope=-8. You could, but sometimes, on tests, they could put the answer choice as -8/1. You would choose that one.
