Question 54927
The equation is a parabola in the form {{{R(p) = ap^2 +bp +c}}} that opens downward, and it's maximum will occur at the value where {{{p=-b/(2a)}}}.

In this case, a=-4 and b=4000, so {{{p= -b/(2a) = -4000/(-8)=500}}} dollars

Maximum revenue will be
{{{R(500) = -4(500)^2 + 4000(500)=1000000}}} dollars

Did I do the math right? I left my calculator in the other room!!

By the way, can you use a graphing calculator on this???
