Question 476077
A logarithm is an exponent
In the equation {{{ a^b = c }}},
{{{b}}} is the log and {{{a}}} is the base.
If the base is {{{10}}}, I write
{{{ 10^b = c }}}
I can rewrite this as:
{{{ log(c) = b }}}
This is read as: The log to the base 10 which
gives me {{{c}}} is {{{b}}}
-----------------
As an example, I have {{{ log(50) = b }}}, and find {{{b}}}
Solving on my calculator,
{{{ log(50) = 1.69897 }}}, or
{{{ 10^1.69897 = 50 }}}
