Question 458716
For some reason I have seen this exact problem four or five times the past few months on this site.

To find the human's equivalent age, simply replace all occurrences of "x" with "2.5" and simplify. Do the same with x = 12. For example,

*[tex \LARGE f(2.5) = -0.001618(2.5)^4 + 0.057326(2.5)^3 - 1.1367(2.5)^2 + 11.46(2.5) + 2.914 = 27.7921 yr]

Update: You had asked how to simplify the problem. The best way is simply to evaluate the expression using a calculator. If you have a graphing calculator, perhaps you could enter the function for f(x), then evaluate f(2.5) and f(12).
