Step 1:  Select a value for *[tex \Large x].  It can be anything you like, but I recommend choosing a small even integer for this problem.


Step 2:  Do the indicated arithmetic to determine the value of *[tex \Large y] that corresponds to the selected value of *[tex \Large x].


Step 3:  Create the *[tex \Large (x,\,y)] ordered pair using the values determined in steps 1 and 2.


Step 4:  Record the results of steps 1 through 3 as one row of your table.


Step 5:  Repeat the steps 1 through 4 at least one more time.  You may have to repeat the first four steps several times depending on the number of table entries required by your text or your instructor's instructions.
