Question 22409
point-slope form:

y-y1 = m(x-x1)

(x,y) is a point on the line; m=slope

find two points on the line, use the slope formula to find the slope.

slope formula:

y2-y1 / x2-x1

the product is your slope (m).

choose one of the points to use in your equation, and simply plug in the numbers.

EXAMPLE:

points: (-2,0)  (0,4)

4-0 / 0+2

m=4/2

now choose one of the points, and plug-in your numbers.

y-y1=m(x-x1)

i'll choose (0,4)

y-4=4/2(x-0)

which would simplify to:

y-4=4/2x
