You can put this solution on YOUR website! Place the decimal between the first two digits 3 and 4, then drop all the zeros off to get 3.42
Now move the decimal 9 spots to the right to get the number 3,420,000,000 again
Since you had to move 9 spots to the right, this means that the exponent is 9
