Add their rates of painting
Tyrone's rate: ( 1 kitchen )/(7 hrs)
Shauna's rate: ( 1 kitchen )/(6 hrs)
Rare together: ( 1 kitchen )/(t hrs)
+1%2F7+%2B+1%2F6+=+1%2Ft+
Multiply both sides by +42t+
+6t+%2B+7t+=+42+
+13t+=+42+
+t+=+42%2F13+ hrs

Sh rate: 1/6 job/hr

Together rate: 1/x job/hr

Equation:
rate + rate = together rate
1/7 + 1/6 = 1/x
Multiply thru by 42x to get:
6x + 7x = 42
13x = 42
x = 42/13 = 3 3/13 hr = 3 hr 14 minutes
