I've solved it to:
175s+175(5+24)=5s(s+24)
But I'm stuck there. I don't know what to do next.

On his way there his speed averaged 24 times faster than on his way back.
He drove a total of 5 hours.
What was his speed on the way there and on the way back?
:
Let s = his speed back
then
24s = his speed there
:
Write time equation: time = dist/speed
:
There time + return time = 5 hrs
175%2F%2824s%29 + 175%2Fs = 5
Multiply by 24s, results
175 + 24(175) = 24s(5)
175 + 4200 = 120s
4375 = 120s
s = 4375%2F120
s = 36.46 mph on the way back
then
24(36.46) = 875 mph on the way there, must have used an F-16 Jet

maybe a miscopy. The speed going can't be
875 mi/hr
I rechecked my math- I think it's OK
