I get -4 for a remainder
The 1st term of the answer is x%5E2
and
x%5E2+%2A%28x-2%29+=+x%5E3+-+2x%5E2+
Subtract this from x%5E3+-+5x%5E2
You get -3x%5E2
The 2nd term of the answer is -3x
+-3x%2A%28x-2%29+=+-3x%5E2+%2B+6x+
Subtract this from -3x%5E2
You get -6x
Add 8, getting -6x+%2B+8
The 3rd term of the answer is -6
+-6%2A%28x-2%29+=+6x+%2B+12
Subtract this from -6x+%2B+8
You get the remainder, -4
