You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Is (-1,2), (1,2), (-2,4), (2,4) a linear equation.
-------
slope from 1st to 2nd point is (2-2)/(1--1) = 0/2 = 0
slope from 2nd to 3rd point is (4-2)/(-2-1) = 2/-3 = -2/3
---------------------
since the slopes are not the same the four points are not on a line.

Not all linear equations are one to one.
y=3 and x=2 are not one to one x=2 is not a function but y=3 is.
