Proof:

Add -11 to both sides, then x is any value less than -3.

how do you find a solution,
for example x + 11< 8?

Subtract 11 from both sides of the inequality:
x < -3
--------------
A solution would be any value of x that is less than -3.
Ex: x = -4 would be a solution.
