: Geometry is very confusing and I need some help with this problem because I don't understand it.
The measure of a supplement of angle is six times as large as a complement of the angle. Find the measures of the angle, its supplement, and its complement. This question is from textbook Geometry
You can put this solution on YOUR website! The measure of a supplement of angle is six times as large as a complement of the angle. Find the measures of the angle, its supplement, and its complement.
--------------
Let the angle be "x"
Complement is "90-x"
Supplement is "180-x"
---------------
EQUATION:
180-x 6(90-x)
180-x = 540-6x
5x = 360
x = 72 degrees (the angle)
90-x = 18 degrees (the complement)
180-x = 108 degrees (the supplement)
