document.write( "Question 1047532: New to this. I determine the slope of the line 4x-7y+19=0.
\n" ); document.write( "I feel like I missed something. I solved the equation to get 19/7, and then got stuck. I then replaced x with -1 and 1 and I think I ended up with a slope of 0.57143 rounded. Am I right when I substitute x, I am changing the other side of the equation to reflect what x now is?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
In case you don't know how to take values directly from an equation to determine slope (for a line), try this: Find ANY two points of the line. Determine the ratio of vertical change to horizontal change. I would not really want to do that with this equation, but, if you want, you can find the axis intercepts, and use THEM to find slope.\r
\n" ); document.write( "
\n" ); document.write( "\n" ); document.write( "\"x=0\",
\n" ); document.write( "\"-7y=-19-4%2Ax\"
\n" ); document.write( "\"y=19%2F7%2B4%2Ax\"
\n" ); document.write( "\"y=19%2F7%2B4%2A0\"
\n" ); document.write( "\"y=19%2F7\"
\n" ); document.write( "-
\n" ); document.write( "This intercept is (0, 19/7).\r
\n" ); document.write( "
\n" ); document.write( "\n" ); document.write( "\"y=0\",
