document.write( "What I did: It was a multiple choice so I thought for a while and then I figured out that we needed 60% more to get to 100%. Since 40% is only 20% away from 60% I got 20% from 76 which was 15.2 so I added that to 76 and I got 91.2 as an answer. Then what I did was that since the 60% was 91.2 I added 91.2 + 76 which equals 167.2 but that answer was wrong so I was really confused.\r

document.write( "I am sorry if my school had the best education where i live, yet their questions are a bit, eh, complicated I'll say. I hope it's not too much to ask for!!!!!! \n" );

Algebra.Com's Answer #628817 by stanbon(75887)![]() ![]() ![]() You can put this solution on YOUR website! Question: \"In a school election, Jared received 76 votes, which was 40% of the total number of votes cast. What was the total number of votes cast?\" \n" ); document.write( "------- \n" ); document.write( "Let the total number of votes cast be \"x\":: \n" ); document.write( "------- \n" ); document.write( "Equation: \n" ); document.write( "0.40x = 76 \n" ); document.write( "----- \n" ); document.write( "x = 76/0.4 = 7600/4 = 190 \n" ); document.write( "----------- \n" ); document.write( "Cheers, \n" ); document.write( "Stan H. \n" ); document.write( "------------ \n" ); document.write( " |
