When I try to get the 'formula' for 2x - y = -16 I can only figure out one that will work if x is a positive number, or only work if x is a negative number, but I can't figure out one that will work if x is either negative or positive. Could anyone help me figure out a 'formula' that will work no matter what number you plug in for x?\r

Algebra.Com's Answer #35053 by stanbon(75887)![]() ![]() ![]() You can put this solution on YOUR website! 2x - y = -16 \n" ); document.write( "Add \"y\" to both sides to get: \n" ); document.write( "2x=y-16 \n" ); document.write( "Add 16 to both sides to get: \n" ); document.write( "2x+16=y \n" ); document.write( "Switch the sides to get: \n" ); document.write( "y=2x+16\r \n" ); document.write( "\n" ); document.write( "Cheers, \n" ); document.write( "Stan H. \n" ); document.write( " \n" ); document.write( " |
