A coordinate plane consists of two lines, one horizontal and one vertical. The horizontal line is called \"the x-axis\" and the vertical line is called \"the y-axis\". I also cal the x-axis \"the running axis\" and the vertical \"the jumping axis\". You notice that they meet at a point. This is called the origin. With a coordinate plane we can plot any location we want in X,Y form. To plot any point, we first run and then jump. Or another way, move along the x-axis first, then turn and jump up or down the Y-axis.
