Question 586240: Building and ground form a right angle. A 25 ft. ladder is up against the buildnig 7 feet away from the building at the ground. If the ladder slips down from the top of the building 4 feet how far away from the building will the ladder be?

Question 590152: ok so heres my issue
im supposed to find the volume of a box with 720 cubic inches
length=3x width= x+11 and height=x
so I know I'm supposed to multiply it all and I get 3x^3+33x^2=720
then i subtract 720 and divide everything by 3
which is x^3+11x^2 -240=0
that's where I'm stuck. I know what the answer is I just dont know how to get to it

Mary has a choice of using one ot two parking garages downtown:
Option 1: $8 an hour for the first two hours, then $2 an hour for each hour more than 2; or
Option 2: $4 for each hour
Let X= total hours parked. (I would like to use 6hrs, however I do not know how to set up the formula. I have to write a mathematical model representing the total parking cost, C, in terms of x for the following (assuming Mary is parking for more than 2 hours.
