You can put this solution on YOUR website!

each of the equal sides in an isosceles triangle exceeds the base by 5 in. if the perimeter is 100in., what are the lengths of the three sides ?
Let the base of an isosceles triangle = x in
then the equal sides of the triangle = x+5 in
the perimeter of the triangle is = 100 in
perimeter of the triangle = sum of all the three sides of the triangle
p = x+(x+5)+(x+5)
100 = 3x+10
100-10 = 3x
3x = 90
x = 90/3 = 30
The sides of the triangle are x = 30 inch
x+5 = 30+5 = 35 inch
x+5 = 30+5 = 35 inch
