The measure of one of the complementary angles is four times the measure of the other angle.What is the answer?
.
Let x = measure of one complementary angle
then
4x = measure of second complementary angle
.
x + 4x = 90
5x = 90
x = 18 degrees (one angle)
.
second angle:
4x = 4(18) = 72 degrees (second angle)
.
answer: 18 degrees and 72 degrees
