First do 19-12 to find the increase. The increase in cars is 7. Put that over the original amount of cars, 12. Then to find the percent, set your equation up like this: 7/12=x/100. This cross multiply and get 7(100)=12(x). Or 700=12x. Divide each side by 12 and get 700/12=x. That reduces to 58.33=x. That is the percent increase.
