If traveling on a bicycle at 20mph for 12 miles what is the total time spent
traveling, and what is the proper formula used to compute this?
The proper formula is
TIME = DISTANCE/RATE
or
T = D/R
Substitute 12 miles for the distance D and 20mph for the rate R.
You should get T = 3/5 of an hour, or 36 minutes.
