You can find the conversion ratios through a wikipedia search and through the use of a regular handbook of chemistry & physics, or even from an almanac. Many other reference and instructional materials also have these.

Handle each conversion ratio as a fraction, keeping the unit with the number.

These are the conversion ratios you will need:
16 oz. = 1 pound
1 pound = 454 grams
1 kilogram = 1000 grams
5280 feet = 1 mile
12 inches = 1 foot

As for showing you how to solve the conversions you are given as your exercises, I will show something different just so you can understand how to manage the process. I will answer a DIFFERENT conversion!

EXAMPLE:
How many seconds of time are in one year?

Do not be mislead by all the values used occurring as numerators. You may need to use some of your ratios putting the non-unity number in a denominator position. You need to decide this according to which unit you are trying to convert.

Work with what you have and try to solve.

Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
1. 3.5 oz=___g
3.5 oz (1 g/0.0352 oz) = (3.5/0.0352)g = 99.43 g
-------------------------------------
2. 3.5 kg=___lb
3.5 kg(1 lb/0.453 kg) = (3.5/0.453)lb = 7.726 lb
---------------------------------
3. 0.25 mi=__in.
0.25mi(1 in/0.00001578 miles) = (0.25/0.00001578)inches = 1584.24 in
-------------------------
