Say you have a cubic meter.
You can look at one face of this cube and
think of it as a wall of smaller cubes each of
which is 1 cm^3

cubes in the wall.

To fill up the whole cubic meter, you need
of these walls, so you then have
cm^3 in the
cubic meter
