Question 893479: 35m=____mi, given 1.00km=0.621mi
My teacher wants it set up where everything cancels until you get your answer.
I have it set up as 35m/1*1000km/1m, that cancels the m. Now I have to cancel the km to get to mi. So I have it as 35m/1*1000km/1m*.621mi/1km. That cancels the m and km. I can't seem to figure out what to do next. The answer is .022mi. Any help is greatly appreciated. This is for physics, not sure if anyone is able to help here.
Thanks in advance for any help.

1 km = 1000 m, NOT 1,000 km = 1 m, as you stated.

≈0.022 mi
m and km cancel out, leaving mi
note:(km/1000m)=(.621mi/km)=1
