Algebraic Version

ModelSize+is+1%2F10+realSize

42=1%2F10%2AReal+Size
Multiply both sides by 10
420=Real+Size
The car is 420 centimeters long.

Non-Algebraic Version

If the model car is 1/10 of the real car, then 10 times the model car must be the size of the real car.
Because the model is 42cm, the real car must be 420 centimeters long.
