Question 775737: For f(x)=((x^3-2x)/(x+1)) find f(x+h)
My work: The only solution I have been able to produce is
f((x^3-2x)/(x+1)+h) but I know that is incorrect, I have similar problems but do not understand how to solve them please explain the steps if you can. Thank you.
Answer by josgarithmetic(39620) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The necessary input is replace x with (x+h). Do this for ALL occurrences of the standard x, not just for some of them.
As a way to guide, leave empty space for the standard x in which to fill in the x+h:
((___)^3-2(___))/((___)+1)
That is the same expression but (*) without showing the input expression and (*) using 'underscore' just to help show the space between paired grouping symbols and (*) not included the triple-brace rendering tags.
