Question 699392: how do you write $20 for 4 items as a unit rate
Answer by neatmath(302) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
This is fairly standard for items sold in stores.
You can think about it as PRICE per UNIT.
This can be represented as
In words, you want the total price of the "stuff,"
divided by the total amount of items of that "stuff."
So, in your case, we have:
dollars
So our unit rate (or the price for 1 single item) is simply 5 dollars each,
or a unit rate of 5 dollars.
I hope this helps! Keep practicing! :)
