Question 557878: Hi I'm am trying to figure out the correct unit analysis for this problem.
A marathon is a long distance event that covers 26.2 miles. If the average runner can run 515 ft in one minute, how many hours will it take to complete the marathon? ( round your result to one decimal place).

I have tried multiplying 26.2 by 515 then divided by 5280 but I got 2.5 and the answer is approx. 4.5.

Answer by scott8148(6628)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
515 ft/min * 60 min/hr = ? ft/hr

26.2 mi/marathon * 5280 ft/mi = ? ft/marathon

divide the second result by the first to get hr/marathon
