Question 259825: If the human heart pumps 5 quarts of blood through the human body in a minute, how many gallons of blood will it pump in an hour?
I know 1 gallon is equal to 4 quarts and 60 minutes is one hour. But how do I set up this problem?
Answer by Fombitz(32388) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Work on getting the units right.
(gallons/hr)=(5 quarts/min)(60 min/hr)(1 gallon/4 quarts)
Now the left hand side units and right hand side units are equal.
R=5*60/4=75 gallons/hr
