= -4 -
Multiply by (y+1)(y-4)*
(y+1)(y-4)* = -4(y+1)(y-4) - (y+1)(y-4)*
:
cancel the denominators and you have
-7(y-4) = -4(y+1)(y-4) - 3(y+1)

-7y + 28 = -4(y^2 - 4y + y - 4) - 3y - 3

-7y + 28 = -4(y^2 - 3y - 4) - 3y - 3
