Question 140696: to cover a 6 by 9 plot with dirt 1 foot deep i used LWH but how do i convert cubic feet to cubic yards?
Answer by Earlsdon(6294)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Try this:
1 yd = 3 ft. Cube both sides.
(1 yd)^3 = (3 ft)^3
1 yd ^3 = 9 ft^3
To convert from cubic feet to cubic yards, divide the number of cubic feet by 9.
Example:
If you have 27 cubic feet and you want to convert to cubic yards, divide 27 by 9 to get 3 cubic yards.
