Question 126332: Here is a conversion problem for you. Im getting confused working the problem.

1 Fortnight=14 days, 1 Furlong=210meter, 1 Knot= 1.852 Kilometers/Hr
A ship is traveling at 20 Knots. Convert 20 Knots to units of Furlong per Fortnight.
1 Kilometer= 1000meter
1 Day = 24 hours

20 Knots(1.852Km/Knot)(1000m/Km)(1 day/24Hrs)(1 Fortnight/14 Days)(210m/Furlong)
Am I close here?

Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
1 Fortnight=14 days,
1 Furlong=210meter,
1 Knot= 1.852 Kilometers/Hr
1 Kilometer= 1000meter
1 Day = 24 hours
A ship is traveling at 20 Knots per hour. Convert 20 Knots to units of Furlong per Fortnight.
----------------
You are changing both time and distance;
do the distance first to get:
(20 knots/hr)(1.852 km/1 Knot)(1000 meters/1 km)(1 Furlong/210 meters)
= (20*1.852*1000*1 Furlong)/(1*1*1*210 hrs( = (37040 Furlongs/210 hrs)
=176.380952 Furlongs/hr
-------------------------------
Now change the time:
(176.380952 Furlongs/hr)(24 hr/day)(14 day/1Fortnight)
= (176.380952*24*14 Furlongs/(1*1*1 Fortnight)
= 59264 (Furlongs/Fortnight)
