Question 1040790: Hi, Im sorry if this is a stupid question. But I'm very confused on one question.
If I work from 9:00AM to 12:45PM which is 3 hours and 45 minutes in total, if I want to find out how much I work in total in 4 days.
Why can't I times 3:45 x 4?

Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The problem lies with the "45" part.
The time 3:45 is NOT the same as 3.45 hours

3 hours: 45 min = 3 hours + 45 min = 3 hours + (45/60) hours = 3 hours + 0.75 hours = 3.75 hours

So
3 hours: 45 min = 3.75 hours

which means you can say 3.75 x 4 = 15 to get the total number of hours for the four days.
