Question 171033: Two cars leave from Ohio and go in opposite directions. One car goes west at 60 mph. Another goes east at 80 mph but leaves 1 hour 30 min after the first car. At what time will they be 620 miles apart? This isn't from a book. I am completely stumped with no idea how to do this.

Question 171029: Two cars leave from New York and drive in opposite directions (north and south). The car going north travels at 60 mph. The car going south leaves an hour and a half after the first and goes 80 mph. At what time will the cars be 620 miles apart? This is a homework problem on a sheet of paper so not from a book. I tried it and got 32 hours 30 minutes but I don't think that it's right.

The conference center is too far to walk from the hotel, so all of the managers must be driven to the conference. All of the shuttle buses are gone, and the only person with a vehicle is Mike Crowley, but he drove his MG, which accommodates only 2 occupants.
Calculate the time it will take for all 4 managers to get to the conference…. Make sure they all get there on time. Note: You must use the slowest person’s time for when in the car.
Ex: If Will and Larry drive together from the hotel it will take 8 minutes (Larry’s time), and from the conference center back to get the next manager, 3 minutes (Will’s time).
