So far i have tried converting the distance formula so that you can work out the time, so t=d/v, but then I don't know how to proceed from there. THank you for your help!

At this point he turns around and paddles downstream at the same rate he had paddled upstream. Upon reaching the point where he entered the river he noticed he had caught up with his hat. From all of this dilemma the question is, "At what rate is the river flowing'?

I know that speed=distance/time
so, 30=distance/t1 and 60=distance/t2
but i'm not sure where to go from there.
