e. Reduce the head start by half and repeat parts c and d.
So I did a and I picked an Ostrich 45 mph and a lion 50 mph. I converted them and got 22 yards per second for the ostrich and 24.44 yards per second for the lion.
The rest of the questions have me confused. Please tell me how to do these and provide an explanation I'm really stuck on this and it's due in two days.

If two trains start at the same time from points A and B towards each other and after crossing they take a and b sec in reaching B and A respectively, then:
(A's speed) : (B's speed) = [sqrt (b) : sqrt (a)]
I can not prove the above formula.
