Question 999301: could you help me?
Keith ran in a marathon. It took him 3 hours and 2 minutes to run 26 miles. If he ran at the same rate for the whole race, how many minutes did it take him to run each mile? (1 hour = 60 minutes)

Answer by rothauserc(4718)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
rate * time = distance
note that 3 hours 2 minutes = 180 + 2 = 182 minutes, then
rate * 182 = 26
rate = 26 / 182 = 1/7 which is one mile per 7 minutes
therefore it takes 7 minutes to run 1 mile
