Question 992772: Natasha is driving 300 miles and wants to make the trip in 5 hours.
Which equation and solution shows the average speed, s, that Natasha needs to drive in order to make her trip in five hours?

Answer by Theo(13342)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
rate * time = distance

distance is 300 miles.
time is 5 hours.

equation becomes:

rate * 5 = 300

solve for rate to get rate = 300 / 5 = 60 miles per hour.
