Question 988094: A truck enters a highway driving 60 mph. A car enters the highway at the same place 7 minutes later and drives 73 mph in the same direction. From the time the carenters the highway, how long will it take the car to pass the truck?
Answer by Boreal(15235) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Car A at 60 mph will go 7 miles in 7 minutes
Car B is going 13 mph faster.
Question really is, how long does it take to go 7 miles at 13 mph?
Answer units are miles divided by miles/hour. Units will be in hours
it is 7/13 hours or 32.31 minutes.
In that time, Car A (truck) will have traveled a total of 39.31 miles
Car B at 73 mph will travel that distance in the same time of 32.31 minutes.
